Join Zariel (she/they) Nutritionist from @Love Your Chichos, and Azul (they/them) Somatic Practitioner from @Mariposx Healing, for an interactive 90 minute workshop. Together we will learn what altars are, how to create one that reflects you and your intentions, how to care for it and yourself. We believe that there is a connection between taking care of ourselves and as a result of that, honoring our ancestors. During the workshop we will also be providing you with some exercises to help you discover your feelings and be empowered to take care of yourself and your altar. The workshop will also include somatic practices and journaling prompts to support your altar within! We hope to see you there. 

We will be building an altar together and if you’d like to participate we suggest you have some of these items with you to use during the workshop (adapted from Don Jose Ruiz’s The Medicine Bag): 

• A space in your home to dedicate to this work (doesn't have to be big, can be a dedicated table or shelf, up to you)

• Objects for your altar, it’s helpful to find items that represents the elements (earth, wind, fire and water) Ideas: 

• A  cup or bowl to hold water and fresh water 

• candle or incense 

• flores, crystals, objects from nature, etc

• sacred texts, meaningful photos, precious keepsakes, things that mean something to you!  

• A cloth for your table or space in a color that you like

• Foods or drinks that you or your ancestors like

• Items that represent your culture

Please take this information as a suggestion and ultimately bring items that honor who you and your people are. 

Please note that we are using a sliding scale rate starting at $20. Please pick a rate of $20, $30, or $40 depending on your privilege and positionality. You can do so by adding an additional payment to the $20.
